The Soroptimist is a public speaking competition only for girls. It takes place in the Mansion House in Dublin and our school’s heat is on Saturday 10th of November 2018. There are four of us taking part: Ruth Brophy, Farah Mansour, Eilish McDonnell and Clíodhna O’Connell (Caoimhe Johnson and Cathy Keenan also prepared speeches but have other engagements meaning they can no longer compete).

There are various topics for discussion from health to human rights, democracy to education. Ruth will be discussing the health topic – world food global extremes. Eilish will be discussing the education topic -  highlighting the importance of education. Farah will be discussing domestic violence and its effects and Clíodhna will be discussing democracy and the importance of women in decision making places.

Good luck to all participating on Saturday. We know you will do the school proud. Results to follow…......
