Euphrasians Hockey

Notre Dame Euphrasians Hockey Club

A group of parent volunteers set up the Notre Dame Euphrasians Hockey Club in 2009.

The aim of the club is to be a fun place to play hockey where members treat each other and visitors to the club with respect, while the objective of the club is to offer its members the opportunity to play hockey in both a social and competitive environment, while encouraging enjoyment and the development of skills.

The club is open to all of our school pupils from six years old and gives them a safe introduction to teamwork which can carry over to other parts of their lives.

Over the years, the club has developed in size and strength with a committee made up of parents representing each class in the school.

Throughout the season the girls train every Sunday morning and during the year they also play matches against various other clubs in the Leinster area.

The season finishes with an annual blitz (in May) where the entire club is divided into teams to play against each other with a BBQ for all the parents and families.  It is a celebration of all that the girls achieve each year and a chance for the different age groups to play together.

For the 2014 / 2015 season, registration begins in the school
from Wednesday, 3rd September and the first hockey coaching
day is Sunday, 7th September at 9.45am.

Hockey sticks and gumshields are compulsory while shin pads
are advisable.
